Only in Reston: The Washington Plaza Baptist Church at Lake Anne Plaza -- yes, that's a Baptist church -- will celebrate "Gay Acceptance Sunday" this weekend at its 11 a.m. service.
If there ever was a doubt that we were a different kind of church, this Sunday tops the cake! It is a day to celebrate the gay community that is within our church family and thank God for all people in our community no matter who they choose to partner with.Good for them.
Welcome - all for that. Then teach them that homosexual relationships/behaviours are agin the bible, decent society, an abomination before God and a destructive element to society in general.
ReplyDeleteWill they be passing out trial size vials of Wet during services?
ReplyDeleteTo the first "anonymous," if you are so offended at the notion of homosexuals attending church, then your solution is very simple---wall yourself off from the rest of society as a chronic isolationist. Like it or not a relatively significant chunk of those living in Reston are of the LGBT persuasion, including myself, some of my Charter Oak neighbors, and many of my friends, and we are tiring of being told what we "can" and "can not" do when heterosexuals are subject to far less stringent restrictions. I thought Reston was supposed to be an educated and "progressive" community? With people like you living in this town...errr...census designated place/quasi-homeowners' association, I'm really concerned. Go inhale some more alfredo sauce at the Macaroni Grill.
