Rumor has it that Compare Foods is scheduled to open its doors at Tall Oaks Shopping Center this Friday, following months of delays and stop-work orders and whatnot. We actually walked by earlier in the week to find the doors open and tradesmen working, so hey, maybe there's some truth to this after all.
We share this, in part, to keep people informed. But mostly to have another excuse to run this commercial starring "Susie De Los Santos," and all those... well-stocked shelves.
Update: Compare Foods is advertising Friday's grand opening on its fancy Web site.
I recently received a circular in the mail from them, so it seems like they must be serious about opening this time.
ReplyDeleteHuh, I went by there last week and was thinking of checking it out as I thought by now surely it would be open. How many months have they been about to open? Doesn't bode well for how long they will actually be in business, if they can't even decide when (or whether?) they should open!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info! I've just been checking by calling them randomly to see if anyone will pick up the phone lol
ReplyDeleteI just home that they have changed out the inventory on the shelves . . . am excited to be able to walk to the store again or even better, send the kids but we'll be checking the expiration dates carefully.
ReplyDeleteWill be thrilled if they don't store their produce outside like the previous inhabitants.
I want Susie De Los Santos to open for my business.
ReplyDeletePigeon, you are a BAD BAD BAD!
ReplyDeleteI like my watermelons to get a nice tan before I pick one up.
ReplyDeleteTall Oaks Plaza: the place where grocery stores go to die...
ReplyDeleteA "circular"? Mine was rather rectangular...
ReplyDeleteIt's not a rumor... Friday Compare Foods finally opens its door to the public!
ReplyDeleteWas ICE invited to the grand opening?
ReplyDeleteIt's either at 11 am or noon.
